Did political correctness help make the Fort Hood macre possible?

So many military men and women have come forward saying the shooter responsible for the macre has said a number of things over the years that are anti-American, has tried to proselytize fellow soldiers, has said he would have problems fighting fellow Muslims, among other things. Did political correctness make it nearly impossible to remove this traitor?
